The No. 5 seed Texas Longhorns are facing the No. 12 seed Clemson Tigers in the first round of the College Football Playoff. The winner here gets a potentially easy opponent the Arizona State Sun Devils.

The Longhorns have a star-studded offense, led by quarterback Quinn Ewers. But, it is the Longhorns' backup quarterback Arch Manning who gets a lot more attention.

During the first quarter of the game, Longhorns coach Steve Sarkisian brought Arch Manning on for one play. This has confused some Texas fans, who voiced their confusion on social media.

"Question for Sark: Why bring in Arch Manning on a 3rd & short & have him hand off for a run up the middle? What's the point of that?" This fan said.
"Can the arch manning package have at least one pass??? #hookem, " another fan said .
"Arch manning out after one play thanks." a third fan said.

These fans mentioned Arch's famous family, and how the commentator mentioned his uncle the moment he came onto the field

"Arch Manning has officially played more in the college football playoffs than Peyton Manning and Eli Manning combined," this fan said.
"Is Arch Manning the nephew of Peyton and Eli? They have never mentioned this before!" another fan said .
"Does Arch Manning not have a dad?" a third fan said.

Finally, these fans want to see more of Arch Manning

"Arch Manning is the future of Texas football. But he should also be the present. Arch > Quinn", this fan said
"Texas gotta let Arch Manning hoop man," another fan said.

Arch Manning's role in Texas this season

Arch Manning has been playing this role in the Texas offense for the last few weeks.

Earlier in the season, he did play as the starting quarterback following Quinn Ewers' injury. When Ewers returned, Manning went back to the bench but was put in sporadically in games to use his superior running ability when compared to Quinn's (whose mobility was limited due to his ankle injury).

He has been able to make a difference for Texas in this role at times, like scoring the opening touchdown of the Longhorns win against Texas A&M.

However, as the fans state above, this way of playing confuses them, considering that Manning is the future of the program.
