Quinn Ewers has zero animosity towards CJ Stroud

Quinn Ewers was one of the highest-rated recruits in the recent history of college football. The quarterback gave his commitment to Ohio State amid several offers from reputable football programs across the country. A lot was expected from him in Columbus and beyond.

However, his recruitment didn't go down well with the then Buckeyes quarterback CJ Stroud, who said he felt disrespected after Ewers was brought.

Nonetheless, the tenure in Columbus was a brilliant experience for Ewers, who harbors no hard feelings against Stroud. He recently told ESPN’s reporter Robert Griffin III that he learned a lot from the Buckeyes star.

“I thought it was a good experience. I mean I learned a whole lot through coach Day and that whole quarterback room because we had some good quarterbacks in that room. Just learning from them being, like, the new guy coming in,” Ewers said.
"I came in the middle of fall camp up there, so that’s like all I knew, that’s what college football was for me, just fall camp. So, going into that was definitely tough and I learned a lot from CJ, like how to prepare for games and whatnot. It was just a good experience but at the end of the day, it just wasn’t the right fit for me."

A defining season for Quinn Ewers

After struggling in his first season at Texas, Quinn Ewers eventually found his feet at the program in the 2023 college football season. The quarterback led the Longhorns to their last-ever Big 12 championship and also helped them reach their first-ever College Football Playoff.

While he was expected to enter the draft in 2024, Ewers decided to return to college football for one more season to boost his draft stock. Without a doubt, this is a defining season for him as it will have a lot to say about his entire college career and the professional future that lies ahead.

Will Quinn Ewers go as high in the draft as CJ Stroud?

Following a successful college football career at Ohio State, CJ Stroud was selected as the No. 2 overall pick by the Houston Texans in the 2023 NFL Draft. Analysts are already touting Ewers to go equally high in 2025.

Boasting as one of the best quarterbacks in the landscape, Quinn Ewers is projected to be a first-round pick in the upcoming 2025 NFL Draft. However, it remains uncertain if he can go as high as No. 2. Only a strong senior season at Texas can ascertain.
