The Texas Longhorns will start Quinn Ewers at quarterback in the Cotton Bowl on Friday.
Ewers has been the Longhorns starting QB all season when he has been healthy. However, with Ewers being inconsistent at times, many wondered if Steve Sarkisian would turn to Arch Manning, but that won't be the case.
Ahead of the Cotton Bowl, Sarkisian praised Ewers for how he has handled adversity this season and throughout his college career.
"It's not been an easy journey for him," Sarkisian said, via ESPN. "There's been ups, there's been downs, there's been injuries, there's been great moments, there's been tough moments. ... But at the end of the day, he's always stayed true to who he is. The guy's been a steady sea for us."
Ewers played well in OT to lead Texas to the win over Arizona State. The Longhorns QB threw a touchdown pass on Fourth-and-13 to tie the game, and then threw a TD on his next pass to put Texas ahead.
Heading into the Cotton Bowl, Ewers said he owes his teammates the best version of himself to try and lead Texas to a national championship game.
"I owe my teammates the best version of me right now," he said. "I can't be looking forward or I'll trip on the rock that's sitting right in front of me. I've got to be locked in on what's right here."
This season, Ewers went 270-for-406 for 3,189 yards, 29 touchdowns and 11 interceptions.
Although Ewers will start at QB in the Cotton Bowl, Manning will likely come in on certain downs as he is the better rushing QB than Ewers. But, Ewers will get the bulk of the snaps.
Texas is a 6-point underdog against Ohio State on Friday night.
