Texas Tech new uniform: Patrick Mahomes & Adidas partnered latest jerseys for Red Raiders are out

Adidas released Texas Tech’s uniform for the 2024 college football season on Monday. The university ended its long relationship with Under Armour on Sunday and moved to another apparel era. The school's relationship with Under Armour lasted 18 years.

Adidas unveiled the new uniforms on the first day of the new deal's beginning. The social media pages of the university's athletic department and the Red Raiders football handle posted teasers about the new Adidas uniform during the weekend.

The new Texas Tech football uniforms were released in partnership with Kansas City Chiefs quarterback and former Red Raider Patrick Mahomes. The reigning NFL MVP has been contracted to the German apparel company since his rookie season in the league in 2017.

Texas Tech uniform combinations for the 2024 season

Texas Tech will have multiple combinations to choose from next season, just as it did during the era of Under Amour. Adidas released six combinations for the Red Raiders on Monday, featuring black, red and white jerseys and pants, along with white and black helmets.

There have been some changes made by Adidas in the new uniforms. The most striking updates to the uniforms include larger numbers on the front of the jerseys. Additionally, the shoulders now have two stripes, replacing the single line and Texas Tech logo from the previous design.

The new uniform showcases the hallmark of the new era at the university led by Adidas. The players involved in the unveiling of the uniforms include offensive lineman Caleb Rogers, quarterback Behren Morton, linebacker Bryce Ramirez, defensive back C.J. Baskerville, running back Tahj Brooks and linebacker Jacob Rodriguez.

The partnership with Patrick Mahomes

Patrick Mahomes played a pivotal role in establishing the partnership between the university and Adidas, putting an end to the relationship with Under Amour which started in 2006. The quarterback celebrated the unveiling of the new uniforms on social media.

It’s worth remembering that Mahomes was the first to announce The Red Raiders' transition to an Adidas school in 2019. This was done by recreating a shirt he wore to a Red Raiders basketball game in 2019. The apparel partnership is set to run until June 2034.

As part of this collaboration, Mahomes's "Gladiator" logo is prominently featured on co-branded Adidas Texas Tech apparel, now available for purchase. It is expected that Adidas will continue to partner with the quarterback for the release of subsequent uniforms.
