Texas Tech vs. Iowa State: Game Summary

Texas Tech opened the game with a methodical seven-play, 72-yard drive capped off by a 35-yard passing touchdown from Behren Morton to Josh Kelly, giving the Red Raiders a 7-0 lead. Iowa State responded with a 49-yard field goal to end a 10-play, 44-yard drive to close the gap at 7-3.

Texas Tech responded with a field goal of their own to widen their lead to 10-3 at the end of the first quarter. Iowa State scored a second field goal with nine minutes left in the first half, bringing the score to 10-6.

After forcing an interception, Iowa State capitalized with a touchdown pass to Jayden Higgins to take a 13-10 lead entering halftime.

Texas Tech scored the only points of the third quarter, with a heroic 12-play, 98-yard drive that was capped off by a 19-yard passing touchdown to Josh Kelly, taking a 17-13 lead into the final period.
