Baxter underwent season-ending knee surgery while Clark had a torn Achilles.

#2 Velton Gardner, RB

Velton Gardner is listed as out with an undisclosed injury.

The senior transfer from SMU has rushed for 26 yards on 8 carries this season.

#3 Derek Williams Jr., DB

Texas defensive back Derek Williams Jr. is doubtful to play against Mississippi State. Williams missed last week's game due to a hamstring injury and is now listed as doubtful for Week 5.

#4 Colin Page, RB

Running back Colin Page is doubtful to play on Saturday with an undisclosed injury.

This season, Page has rushed for 92 yards on 16 carries.

#5 Quinn Ewers, QB

Texas Longhorns starting quarterback Quinn Ewers is questionable to play on Saturday. Coach Steve Sarkisian says Ewers has improved every day but did praise Arch Manning and Trey Owens.

"I'd say he's improved every day," Sarkisian said, via ABC. "I think Arch has had a very good week, and I would say this: Trey Owens probably had his best practice as a Longhorn today, so that was really encouraging as well."

The plan is to announce the starting quarterback on Friday.
