"Thank you for bringing that little kid into your home. Out of love and selflessness, you changed my life," Johnson wrote for his coach.

Even in defeat, Tez Johnson showcased remarkable sportsmanship during the 2025 Rose Bowl. After Oregon’s 41-21 loss to Ohio State, Johnson stayed on the field while the Buckeyes celebrated their win. He patiently waited for Ohio State quarterback Will Howard to finish his postgame interview.

As soon as it wrapped up, Johnson approached Howard with a handshake, a hug, and a message of encouragement:
