After parting ways with quarterback Daniel Jones, the New York Giants are reported to be looking at drafting Shedeur Sanders in 2025. The Colorado star is widely projected to be a coveted pick in the draft with a series of destinations already being predicted by experts.

With the Giants now in the position to claim the first-overall pick in 2025, they've become betting favorites to pick Shedeur. Giants GM Joe Schoen's visit to Colorado's practice and meeting with Deion Sanders earlier this week has also fuelled the rumor.

However, former New York Jets scout Daniel Kelly has warned the Giants about drafting the Colorado quarterback. Kelly has been a stern critic of Shedeur Sanders since he arrived in Boulder and has condemned his antics on the field several times.

“That would be a huge mistake," Kelly wrote on X. "Shedeur Sanders is the most sacked QB in college football the past two seasons and the Giants are the most sacked NFL team over the past two seasons.”

Shedeur Sanders’ reaction to joining the Giants

During an installment of his “2Legendary with Shedeur Sanders” last week, the quarterback discussed what the Giants have had so far and what the future holds for the team with Drelon Miller.

While Miller hinted at him getting drafted by the franchise, Shedeur had a swift reply.

“Come on man, you being Federal out here, I don’t know,” Sanders said. “But nah, I think it’s up to the staff, up to the coaches at that point, I don’t know. No comment — that’s just a safe route for me, just no comment. I can’t even turn water into wine right now. I can’t do anything, so just no comment.
“But I would never pray on anybody’s downfall. I would never do that. I would never do that. And I would never play on no team’s downfall, players’ downfall, anything because I won’t want anybody to do that to me. So that’s why I just don’t have a comment.”

Sanders' response carries an air of ambiguity, hinting at a self-awareness that he might indeed be the Giants' favored candidate. Yet, his reaction could just as convincingly convey the exact opposite.

Touted as the most pro-ready quarterback in the draft by many analysts, a host of teams are open to drafting Shedeur Sanders in 2025. It remains to be seen where he eventually lands.
