Colorado Buffaloes two-way star Travis Hunter received criticism from ex-NFL star Richard Sherman. However, this "bland" criticism did not sit well with Hall of Famer Terrell Owens, who called out Sherman for his outlook on Hunter's potential to be a two-way star in the NFL.

"I heard the most ridiculous take from Richard Sherman that he said that he didn't believe he (Travis Hunter) could do it. C'mon Richard. C'mon bro don't do that man. For me that just oozes, it smells like hate," Owens said on Bubba Dub's podcast.
"Travis Hunter is that dude bro. He's that guy. To do what he's doing at the collegiate level, its exceptional bro. You don't find too many. In high school you saw that, not in college. To me Travis is better than Charles Woodson than Charles Woodson at Michigan."

Hunter is in the midst of his second season with the Colorado Buffaloes after transferring from Jackson State last year. His exceptional performance on both sides of the ball earned him the Paul Hornung Award last season.

Last Wednesday on the St. Brown Podcast, Richard Sherman doubted Hunter's ability to carry forward his two-way plays in the NFL. He also went on to detail how the Colorado star fits in more as a cornerback than a receiver on the field.

“As a receiver he’s kinda bland,” Sherman said.“I think he goes as a corner just because receivers his size … he’s not a special size, super dynamic route runner. He’s a great athlete and he’s smooth so he can get it done. I’m sure if he focused on receiver he could be elite, but as a corner, he just looks natural."

Travis Hunter replies to Richard Sherman's criticism

Travis Hunter replied to Richard Sherman's criticism of his two-way abilities on social media.

"Stop speaking on me, Let me play Football," Hunter wrote on his IG story.

So far in four games this season, Hunter has recorded 472 receiving yards and five touchdowns. On defense, he has put up 13 total tackles, three passes defended, one forced fumble, and one interception. Hunter just wants to focus on his game and let his talent guide his professional journey ahead.
