Travis Hunter received a custom gift from EA Sports on Friday. This comes after the Colorado two-way star was named in the first class of the game developer’s new initiative, GEN / EA Sports. He did an unboxing of the custom EA Sports gift at Folsom Field.
The box contained a copy of the College Football 25, which he featured on the cover alongside Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers and Michigan’s running back Donavan Edwards. It also had the POGA Lux gaming station, which included a PlayStation 5 console and themed T-shirts.
In the unboxing video shared on Colorado football's social media page, Travis Hunter appreciated the gift, comparing it to the TRX truck gifted to him by his girlfriend.
“This and my TRX, the best gifts I ever had,” Hunter said.
Travis Hunter's selection for the Gen / EA Sports program
Travis Hunter was selected as part of a new venture from EA Sports known as the Gen/EA Sports on Thursday, joining a diverse group of young and standout athletes across different sports.
According to EA Sports, the program is centered on the next generation of athletes. In collaboration with the four selected athletes in the program's first class, EA Sports will actively co-create content and partner on initiatives that resonate personally with each of them.
“GEN/EA Sports will amplify their voices, engaging them, especially around important moments in sport and their own lives, while also leveraging their unique perspectives as elite athletes, creators and community leaders to positively influence the experiences delivered by EA Sports,” the company said.
The other three athletes joining Travis Hunter in the program are F1 Academy driver Bianca Bustamante, Real Madrid forward Endrick and Angel City FC forward Alyssa Thompson. This collaboration highlights EA Sports’ commitment to teaming up with rising profiles to achieve notable development.
Travis Hunter happy to be part of the first GEN / EA Sports class
Travis Hunter is elated to be one of just four athletes selected in the first class of the Gen / EA Sports initiative. This is a testament to his rise in the world of college football.
“I’m honored to be in this first GEN / EA Sports class alongside other amazing athletes who are the next generation of sport,” Hunter said regarding his selection by EA Sports.
“To have the support of a global brand like EA SPORTS who genuinely wants to boost our voices and partner on the things that matter most to us is empowering and I can’t wait for fans to see how we bring this program to life,” he added.
Hunter is looking to lead Colorado to a win in the Rocky Mountain Showdown this weekend following the setback in Week 2. Playing on both sides of the ball, he continues to remain one of the most important players on the Buffaloes roster.
