Colorado coach Deion Sanders continues to pay tribute to beloved superfan Peggy Coppom, known as "Miss Peggy," on her 100th birthday. He had earlier unveiled a special apparel line in her honor and walked onto the field alongside her against the Utah Utes during the weekend.
The celebrations continued on Tuesday, as Miss Peggy joined Sanders at the podium during his weekly press conference. This marked yet another unforgettable moment in her storied connection with the program as "Coach Prime" made it a memorable one.
"This is a wonderful day,” Sanders said. “It's amazing that God would find two people from two different walks of life, two different generations and bring them together as He has.
"She's always greeted me with love, compassion, support, stability and hope. And I'm thankful to know her. I'm thankful that she can get to me anytime she desires to. And I'm thankful to be celebrating her 100th with her. She is the epitome of CU Buffs, of Buff Nation. She is the rock that holds us all together," he continued.
The warm gesture made a host of fans stand for Sanders amid the online backlash he often gets for his antics.

Miss Peggy explains what Deion Sanders’ gesture meant to her
Buffaloes fans serenaded Miss Peggy with a heartfelt rendition of "Happy Birthday" during the Buffaloes' 49-24 home victory over Utah. The touching tribute created a memorable moment for the Colorado super fan and she explains what Deion Sanders’ gesture meant on Tuesday.
"I haven't even comprehended it yet," Miss Peggy said later in the same press conference. "I cried, I just thank god for my life and for all the friends and for everything that's happened to me.
"I just wish my twin sister were here, it all started because we were twins. I can't deny that we've been loyal fans, but I did get all of this attention just for just having a good time, [it's] unbelievable," she added.
Miss Peggy and her twin sister, Betty, embodied a lifetime of devotion to Colorado football, a passion that began in the 1940s. Together with their husbands, the sisters became proud season ticket holders during the 1950s and 60s, faithfully attending games for decades.
Betty, a steadfast supporter who witnessed over 400 matchups, died in 2020. Peggy, however, carried on their shared legacy, living to celebrate her 100th birthday and experiencing the thrilling resurgence of the Buffaloes under head coach Deion Sanders — a fitting culmination to a lifetime of unwavering fandom.
