Former Alabama Crimson Tide coach Nick Saban has offered his take on the disparity in the current wealth sharing system in college football. As the keynote speaker in this year's Jimmy Rane Charity Golf Tournament, Saban, who retired in January, continues to remain a strong voice in the college football landscape.

Nick Saban was asked about the changing landscape of college football and the current state of Name, Image and Likeness deals. He responded that the night was to honor the students who were going to receive scholarships to attend universitites.

Saban added that the first priority of college football at the moment is addressing all the lawsuits, especially against the NCAA.

"It's really all about the kids here tonight that are gonna get awarded scholarships.
"But look, the number one thing we need to do in college football, the first thing we got to do is address all the lawsuits. Cause the lawsuits may break the NCAA, and it may break college football."

Nick Saban also emphasized supporting the idea of a revenue sharing system where college atheltes have their own share of wealth from the revenue earned:

"That should be the first order of business. And the second thing is to try to create a system that continues to allow all people who have had the opportunity to participate in college athletics. That's male and female."
"Look I'm all for the players sharing in the wealth of what's happening in college football. But it has to be a system that's going to keep everybody having an opportunity and hopefully something that financially the universitites continue to being able to operate because it works financially for the system."

After Tennessee and Virginia filed an antirust lawsuit against the NCAA in relation to NIL deals, Florida, New York and the District of Columbia also joined in this lawsuit.

The lawsuit filed claims that the NCAA prohibits these athletes in the process of recruitment to have the opportunity to strike deals with NIL collectives.

Nick Saban's 'caste system' take on modern-NIL at Capitol Hill

During the rould table discussion at Capitol Hill in March, Nick Saban talked about the impact of modern NIL among college athletes. He said that the current scenario will create a disparity between the 'rich and the poor'.

"You're going to create a caste system where the rich will get richer and the poor will get poorer, and eventually the fans will look at it like 'I really don't want to watch the game.'
"It's whoever wants to pay, the most money raised, the most money to buy the most players is going to have the best opportunity to win."
