Former NFL player and now ESPN analyst Ryan Clark said he was proud that his son Jordan Clark will play in the national championship game. Clark is a senior safety for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.

Clark began his college career at Arizona State for parts of six years before transferring to Notre Dame in 2024. With the Fighting Irish, the safety has played a key role as he's recorded 33 tackles, five pass defense and one interception.

After seeing his son advance to the national championship, Ryan Clark said it was the best feeling as a father.

"As a Father, when were down 10-0, I was freaking out," Clark said on Get Up. "When they went up 24-17, I was freaking out. My kid is not the kid that's not necessarily happy about everything, I remember they would win games and he would be sad because they had to play better.
"Or, he'd play great, because he's sad because he lost games. The last two games, I've seen him more excited about football than I have in my entire life."

He continued about his son winning the Orange Bowl on Thursday:

"There is no better feeling for a father. This is better than winning a Super Bowl. Better than winning a AFC Championship, better than anything I've ever done in my career because it's my actual heart living out there on the field, and it's been an amazing journey."

Ryan Clark will now get to cheer on his son in the national championship game on Jan. 20 against the winner of Ohio State vs Texas.

Will Ryan Clark's son Jordan's name called in the NFL Draft?

Jordan Clark is a fringe NFL prospect but still could hear his name be called.

NFL analyst Nathan Erbach of Sports Illustrated believes there's a chance Clark and fellow transfer Rod Heard II could be Day 3 picks or priority undrafted free agents:

"I wouldn't bet on them being high draft picks, but Clark comes with NFL pedigree - his dad being former NFL Pro Bowler Ryan Clark and Heard has been highly productive throughout his college career. Working against them is age, as both are entering their sixth seasons."

In his college career, Jordan Clark has recorded 172 tackles and four interceptions.
