The quarterback class for the 2025 NFL Draft is filled with mysteries and question marks, painting it as one of the weaker quarterback drafts of the last decade.

Arguably the biggest mystery is Colorado Buffaloes quarterback Shedeur Sanders, who is projected to be a top-10 pick, with some mock drafts having him going first overall if a quarterback-needy team gets the selection.

Sanders — the Colorado coach and Shedeur's father — has gotten into scuffles about how important the branding of his program and family is to him over winning football games. People have speculated whether or not he would stay with Colorado after his son gets drafted along with star two-way athlete Travis Hunter.

Not All PR Is Good PR

One of the things that could hurt Shedeur's branding — and his father's, by association — would be playing quarterback for a losing franchise.

ESPN football analyst and former NFL quarterback Dan Orlovsky believes that the Cleveland Browns would be a prime destination for that bad publicity and thinks Deion would rather Shedeur stay and wait for a better opportunity.

In a recent mock draft by The 33rd Team, they had Sanders going to the Browns second overall. Orlovsky does not see that as realistic.

Downgrading From Buffaloes To Browns

The Cleveland Browns are discussed widely as the most dysfunctional franchise in the NFL. Quarterback Deshaun Watson's contract is viewed as arguably the worst in NFL history, and his off-the-field conduct does not help his case.

If Sanders were to be drafted to Cleveland, he would be brought in to be the savior at quarterback. But Orlovsky believes that being drafted there could cause him to lose games, hurting the Sanders family brand.

The Sanders have been one of the biggest benefactors of the NCAA's new NIL structure and have generated a lot of rewarding publicity in the process.

Colorado is set to host the Cincinnati Bearcats Saturday night at 10:30 p.m. ET for an opportunity to improve to 6-2 on the season.
