Colorado Buffaloes quarterback Shedeur Sanders left the blowout loss against the Nebraska Cornhuskers on Saturday with two minutes remaining in the fourth quarter. At that point, Nebraska was well ahead in the game, 28-10, which was also the final result.

Apart from the loss, many called out the signal caller for not waiting on the sidelines and, like professional athletes, shaking hands with the opposition once the game had ended.

However, in his latest podcast episode on "2Legendary with Shedeur Sanders," the quarterback revealed the reason for his early departure from the sidelines and it's not what many think.

"That was crazy I heard people thought I just quit on the team, which is wild; they just took me in for concussion protocol Make sure I was all right," Sanders said (0:40).

Shedeur Sanders also said that he will be playing the next game against the Colorado State Rams after everything went fine with his concussion tests.

Deion Sanders clarifies why Shedeur Sanders left the game

After the game, while fans called out Shedeur Sanders for being "selfish" and showing immaturity for leaving the game early, his father and coach Deion Sanders clarified why the team thought it was best for Shedeur to leave.

“I just talked to him. He looked pretty darn good to me,” Deion said in the press conference. “We just wanted to make sure we get him checked out. And we have every precaution because now we’re looking forward to next week. This week was over.
"By the time he got out of the game, it was a wrap. So, we wanted to make sure he was going to be OK, so we wanted to get him checked out.”

Shedeur Sanders was taken down quite a few times by the Cornhuskers. Despite additions to the O-line this season, issues from last year persist.

Shedeur was hurried on nine pass attempts apart from getting sacked five times. This was the issue last year as well as Colorado ended the season 4-8. Moreover, Sanders threw 23-of-38 passes for 244 yards, a touchdown and an interception.

The next game against the CSU will be important for Colorado. They are 1-1 on the season and would like to add to the six-game winning streak in the Rocky Mountain Showdown.
