Dabo Swinney's Clemson team has been highly impressive this campaign since the loss to Georgia in the season opener. The Tigers have won six consecutive games against and are looking to make it seven when they host Louisville at Death Valley on Saturday.
With the Cardinals coming to town, the Tigers have a huge challenge ahead of them. This is the first time they are facing a top-20 team in total offense this season and the best since the Bulldogs game. Dabo Swinney is wary of the offensive threat Lousiville comes with.
"They really do a great job putting pressure on you offensively to have to match 'em, because they move the ball on everyone," Swinney said in his weekly media availability.

"To me, this is certainly the most complete and best offense we've seen since Georgia. The quarterback's a future pro, knows what the heck he's doing. They've got some really, really good skill — the best overall group of receivers since Georgia."
Dabo Swinney likens the current Louisville team to Bobby Petrino’s
Bobby Petrino coached one of the most successful offensive teams in the history of Louisville football during his two tenures. His most notable teams were that of 2015 and 2016, which had the offense led by Heisman Trophy winner and reigning NFL MVP Lamar Jackson.
Speaking at his press conference session on Tuesday, Dabo Swinney noted that the Cardinals still carry some of the hallmarks of their former coach despite his absence from the program. This is bound to create some problems for the Tigers this weekend.
“If you remember Coach [Bobby] Petrino, that's what it looks like, as far as style of play and getting ready for that era of Louisville football when we would play them," Swinney said. "It was always one of the biggest challenges going against them schematically because of all the misdirection, formations, movements.”
The Cardinals are airing it out on over 55% of their plays this season, ranking 16th nationally with an impressive 8.6 yards per pass attempt. They are also known to incorporate a variety of pre-snap disguises to keep defenses off-balance.
“They're an inside-zone team, too, but they're definitely going to try to do that because that's an area that we have not been great at consistently enough, of really setting the edge like we need to," Swinney said. "We've given up some plays. They certainly will try to exploit that.”
Clemson has been a dominant force in shutting down inside rushing attempts this season. However, opposing teams have occasionally found success by stretching the run game to the perimeter, where the Tigers have shown some vulnerability. Dabo Swinney will look to address this before welcoming the Cardinals this weekend.
