Colorado Buffaloes two-way star Travis Hunter will likely have his name announced in next year's NFL draft. And when it does, Hunter wants it to be the Denver Broncos so he stays closer to Colorado after all is said and done.

Hunter came over from Jackson State to join Deion Sanders at Colorado ahead of the 2023 season. His versatility on the field earned him the Paul Hornung Award last year. This season, he's a Heisman contender and with every game he puts on a stellar performance, his draft stock skyrockets.

Hunter revealed his wishes in an interview with "Kickin' it With Dee" earlier this week.

"I wish I could go to the Broncos, just to stay in Colorado because so many people welcomed with open arms. They showed us love that we would never have gotten in a different spot," Hunter said.

Not only does Hunter want to get picked by the Denver Broncos, but he wants to go first overall.

"I want to be the first pick. I never dreamed of it until a couple of years ago when I knew I had a chance to become the first pick. That became my main goal, to become the first pick. I don't even care where it's at."

According to Tankathon, the Denver Broncos have the right to pick 18th in the first round. So unless the Broncos trade up to get the chance to pick first overall, Hunter's wishes will not be fulfilled.

CFB analyst rates Travis Hunter as "best prospect" in 2025 NFL draft

While it's too early to project anything for next year's draft, let alone think Travis Hunter won't return to play another season in college. However, several analysts, including analyst Mel Kiper Jr, believe he can make it big in the NFL and have touted him as the No. 1 prospect.

"Travis Hunter to me is the best player," Kiper said on ESPN's First Draft (2:30 onwards). "You think about what Champ Bailey was 25 years ago. Champ Bailey came out of Georgia and did everything for the Bulldogs."
"Offense, defense, everything and he was a great corner, a Hall of Fame corner. Travis Hunter does everything at Colorado, he lights up the scoreboard and he prevents the scoreboard from being lit up."

Unlike other analysts who feel Travis Hunter has the potential to be a true CB1, Mel Kiper Jr. thinks the Colorado star can make it big as a wide receiver in the NFL.
