College football fans don't seem to think Texas Longhorns coach Steve Sarkisian will go to the NFL. Sarkisian's name has been linked to some NFL coaching openings.
Sarkisian has coached in the NFL before, as he was the Atlanta Falcons offensive coordinator in 2017 and 2018, while also being the Oakland Raiders QB coach in 2004.
On ESPN's "Get Up" the panel speculated that Sarkisian could be a fit for the Dallas Cowboys head coaching job. However, college football fans disagree with the panel as they believe Sarkisian will stay at Texas.
"This is not happening," a fan wrote.
"Sark ain’t leaving Manning for Dak and doesn’t want to be controlled by JJ," a fan added.
Sarkisian has been the Longhorns coach since 2021 and has a record of 38-16.
"On today’s episode of things that will never happen!," a fan wrote.
"Hell naw," a fan added.
Some fans believe it's just a talking point from ESPN as they doubt Sarkisian would leave Texas.
"These guys really need to get a new profession," a fan wrote.
"Yall so damn bored you'll say any damn thing," a fan added.
Sarkisian and the Longhorns are set to play the Ohio State Buckeyes on Friday, January 10 in the Cotton Bowl Classic. The game serves as the semifinals of the College Football Playoff.
Steve Sarkisian's message of unification ahead of CFP semifinal
Steve Sarkisian took to X to send a message with the CFP semifinal coming up.
"Unified. Focused. Relentless. Together with our Board of Regents Chairman Kevin Eltife and Athletic Director CDC, we’re locked in. Let’s make history!," Sarkisian wrote.
Sarkisian was previously asked if he's interested in returning to the NFL ahead of the Peach Bowl on January 1 which he shot down.
"I have interest in winning on January 1st," Sarkisian said via SI. "That's what I have interest in. That's a hypothetical. I'm not doing that with you. I don't know."
Sarkisian's contract with the Longhorns runs through 2030.
