Colorado Buffaloes coach Deion Sanders is known for his deep support of family and friends, often using his social media platforms to uplift those he cares about. On Wednesday morning, he made a heartfelt plea on X to help his longtime friend, Keith Ross, who has stage four terminal cancer.
Ross has reportedly been battling with cancer for two and a half years. While he has been valiantly fighting against the disease, he has been severely impacted by the rising medical bills and other expenses. Asking people to donate to Ross' GoFundMe account, Coach Prime wrote:
"This is a very sensitive matter, plz donate whatever you can."
Ross has ties to Deion Sanders through their time together at Florida State University, where Ross played as a running back from 1985 to 1988 and Sanders played as a cornerback. Ross accumulated 739 yards in 39 games played, with five touchdowns and 50 yards receiving in his four years with the Seminoles.
This is not the first time Deion Sanders has spoken about Keith Ross on social media
It is always heartwarming to see the college football world come together, especially in tough times, and this plea from Deion Sanders for people to support his friend Keith Ross should not have come as a huge surprise to those who have been following him over the past few days.
He tweeted about Ross on Tuesday as well, wishing him a happy birthday:
"Happy Birthday to my Big Brother KEITH ROSS from Newberry. He’s always been a man I’ve looked up and he’s always been a mature consistent man. We may lose him soon but I want all y’all to please lift up his wife Vedoutie Ross, she’s going thru 1 of the toughest times of her life."
Keith Ross is a law enforcement officer who lives in Newberry, Florida, and, according to his GoFundMe profile, he is loved by many people around him.
