The act that Texas has chosen is Mr. Worldwide himself, Pitbull. This has drawn many reactions from football fans. Here is a collection of the most notable responses to this move from the Longhorns.

How did college football fans react to Pitbull headlining the Longhorns' SEC Celebrations?

Firstly, these fans appear pleased to hear that Pitbull is headlining the event.

"This is fucking amazing," wrote this fan.
"I'm hyped for this, Pitbull is GOATed," wrote another fan.

However, these fans are less than pleased to see Pitbull headlining the event.

"This is so stupid," wrote this fan.
"Who's in charge of scheduling this stuff? I can probably find at least three better acts performing in the area that day before the end of the hour," wrote this fan.

"This is not something we should be celebrating," wrote another.
"Can we decline?" asked this fan.

Longhorns fans were surprised that the University of Texas chose Pitbull, considering his lack of connection to the program. Also mentioned was the fact that though he has a recent album release, a song of his has not been on the Billboard Top 100 since 2016.

"How did they get the biggest star from 2012 to show up?" Wrote one fan.

"Pitbull is still a thing?" wondered this fan.
"Wait, they have all those famous alumni and Pitbull is who they go with?" wrote another fan.
"Nothing says 'Texas Longhorns' like a Cuban dude from Miami," commented this fan.
"He’s still relevant?" asked this fan.

Finally, these fans came up with alternative suggestions for who the Texas Longhorns could use instead of Pitbull.

"Why not get one of those hologram shows and twin bill Biggie and 2Pac? An alive Pitbull can't compete with legendary dead rapper holograms. They'd crush him. Plus, you'd save some huge coin, Longhorns. Mo' beer money!" suggested this fan.
"It would’ve been cooler if they got Matthew McConaughey to just walk out and go 'alright, alright, alright' then leave," suggested another fan.

The general takeaway from the fans is that while some are excited about Pitbull being chosen, many of them are not.

They cannot understand why Pitbull, a man with no connection to the University of Texas, or to Texas in general, has been asked to perform at the mega event. After all, it will be a celebration of potentially the biggest change in college football.
