Texas will sport its iconic all-white uniforms in the College Football Playoff semifinal on Friday night in Arlington. The Longhorns are set to take on the Ohio State Buckeyes in the Cotton Bowl, with both teams vying for a coveted spot in the national championship game.

The Longhorns unveiled the new uniform on Tuesday. Amid a sweeping cold front expected in the game, Texas will break tradition with an unconventional look, which they teased on X.

The uniform didn't impress many fans though. Many of them found the design and appearance unappealing.

Here's a look at some of the reactions online:

"This is ugly as shit + your sorry asses got bailed out by the worst targeting no call, after a f*****g review, I’ve ever seen in my life. paying your way to the natty is so shameless 😭," one fan said.
"Since we are ranked high, did we opt for the Icy Whites over the usual home jerseys?" a fan said.
"How fitting considering the weather in dfw this week," one fan said.
"This looks as boring as they play in the field," one said.

Some fans did not dislike the uniforms.

"I don't see the difference between these "icy" whites and our regular away whites," a fan said.

Steve Sarkisian addresses the belief that the Cotton Bowl is like a home game to Texas

Texas heads north on Friday night to play the Cotton Bowl against Ohio State at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington. Unlike the Buckeyes, the Longhorns aren't traveling far to play the encounter, and this has led many to conclude it's like a home game for them.

Coach Steve Sarkisian addressed the widespread belief ahead of the Cotton Bowl on Monday. When questioned about it in his media availability, the coach refused to agree that the Longhorns are technically playing a home game as it's not being played in Austin.

“I don’t know,” Sarkisian said. “I think both schools get the same number of tickets. I’m not certain. [John] Bianco might be able to answer that for you, but I think everybody gets the same number of tickets. And then from that point, who’s going to buy the rest?”
“And I know we’ve got a great fan base that travels. I know Ohio State’s got a great fan base that travels. So, I don’t know. If it was at DKR (Memorial Stadium), I’d probably say something like that would be a home game. But, you know, it is what it is.”

Ohio State is considered the favorite for the encounter following its brilliant start to the playoff. The Buckeyes scored more than 40 points in the first two games against Tennessee and Oregon.
