Deiondra Sanders, Coach Prime’s daughter, welcomed a baby boy after overcoming challenges during her pregnancy. Sharing her joy on Instagram, she opened up about the hurdles she faced, including threatened miscarriages and a shortened cervix.
The baby, born on Aug. 9, weighed 6 lbs 13 ounces and measured 18 inches, according to her IG post. Deiondra’s Instagram post detailed the challenges she faced on her journey to motherhood, including surgeries and the possibility of placenta previa.
“WE MADE IT YALL,” she wrote. “Through every challenge—the fibroids, the threatened miscarriages, the shortened cervix, the cerclage, the myomectomies, the wisdom of age (keep it cute lol), the possibility of placenta previa and taking my entire uterus, the bed rest, and the prayers to reach 28 weeks—by the grace of God, WE MADE IT.”
She said this journey has been long, but her baby boy made every moment worthwhile. Deiondra wrote alongside touching photos of her newborn and husband, Jacquees.
“This journey has been long, but seeing your face, my sweet baby boy, made every moment worthwhile,” she added. “I am overjoyed to be your mom and cannot wait to share a lifetime of love and adventures with you. I love you so much Baby Que. I Love you so much Que.”
This joyous event also marked a special moment for Deion Sanders, the former NFL star and now a proud grandfather. Prime Time couldn’t contain his amazement at the timing, as the birth coincided with his 57th birthday.
At a preseason news conference in Boulder, he said:
“That’s how good God is, like God would choose me on my birthday, for my daughter, for my kids to have their first child, the first time I’m a grandfather, on my birthday,” he said in the press conference.
“Do you understand how beautiful that is? How much of a blessing that is?”

Deiondra Sanders, the eldest of Deion Sanders' five children, welcomed a baby boy, and the whole Sanders family is thrilled. Deiondra had shared the news of her pregnancy back in March.
Her brother and Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders said:
“We are uncles, yeah” Shedeur said, via USA Today. “It's really exciting. My sister, I just got the text that she had a child.”
Buffaloes safety Shilo Sanders, who had already seen his new nephew via video call, said,
“He’s nice,” he said. “He’s healthy. I’ve seen him on FaceTime. I’m proud of her.”
As for their father, Deion Sanders, the Pro Football Hall of Famer, is feeling great physically after overcoming health challenges last year. Coach Prime is also optimistic about his team’s future as they prepare for Year 2 in the Big 12, following the dissolution of the Pac-12.
