The Toledo Rockets traveled two hours east on I-80 for a Mid-American Conference matchup versus the Akron Zips on Tuesday. Toledo entered the Week 14 matchup with a 7-4 record, coming off a 24-7 loss versus Ohio last week. Though the Rockets are out of the race in the MAC, they are still fighting to clinch a spot in a superior bowl game.

This MAC showdown may not have season-altering implications but each team will look to go out with a win in their final game of the regular season. In a tightly contested first half, the Zips mustered a 7-0 lead entering the locker rooms at halftime.

A 14-point fourth quarter propelled Toledo, forcing overtime versus Akron after going down 14-0. Unfortunately for Toledo, Akron scored in overtime before forcing a stop to secure a 21-17 win to upset the Rockets.
