Penn State QB Drew Allar did not have a great game during their Orange Bowl showdown against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. The only interception that counted proved to be the costliest for the Penn State Nittany Lions. With over 40 seconds left, Allar made a bad decision under pressure and threw the ball to a Notre Dame player.
This led to Marcus Freeman's team taking advantage and getting into field goal range. It was capped off with a 41-yard FG by Mitch Jeter, which ultimately won them the semifinal game.

In the post-game press conference, the quarterback took responsibility for his mistake. He stated that he made a bad call and failed to execute the play that led to the Nittany Lions being eliminated from the natty championship race this season.
"I was going through my progression," Allar told reporters. "Just trying to (throw) it at his feet. Should have thrown it away. Didn't execute what I was trying to do.... I'll do everything in my power to grow from it."
Drew Allar can declare for the 2025 NFL Draft despite having one more year of eligibility left. It will be interesting to see if he decides to return for another season and redeem himself or move on and focus on his professional career in the NFL.
