No. 1 Texas Longhorns' QB Quinn Ewers returned from his abdominal injury and led his team to a spectacular 34-3 win over the No. 18 Oklahoma Sooners (4-2, 1-2 SEC) on Saturday. This Red River rivalry marked the first game between the Longhorns and Sooners since both joined the Southeastern Conference in July 2024.

The Red River Rivalry, however, started with Quinn Ewers being sacked on the first play and then throwing an interception on his first pass in the opening quarter. This led some football fans to joke about not playing backup QB Arch Manning.
