The LSU Tigers are a college program with a great history of producing elite athletes. The Tigers have sent 31 athletes to the Paris 2024 Olympics.
These athletes have spent at least some time in their career in Baton Rouge, and will now be competing against the world's best in sport's biggest competition.
Here are the LSU Tigers that are competing at the 2024 Olympic Games.
5 LSU Athletes that are competing at the 2024 Olympics
Mondo Duplantis
Armand 'Mondo' Duplantis is one of his sport's top athletes at the moment. Duplantis will represent Sweden in the pole vault.
The Swede is the current Olympic, World and European champion in the event, and holds the world record at 6.22 meters.
He was equally strong in his time at LSU, where he set the NCAA record of 6.00 meters during the 2019 SEC championship. Expect him to win the gold in Paris.
Sha'Carri Richardson
Sha'Carri Richardson is a sprinter who will be representing the United States at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
Richardson is, like Duplantis, one of the top athletes in her sport and a real contender for a medal. She is the current 100m world champion and will look to add the Olympic title to her growing list of awards.
She was not in college long but was able to become national champion in the 100m in a record time, something that she will hope to replicate at the global level soon.
JuVaughn Harrison
JuVaughn Harrison represents the United States in both the long jump and the high jump.
When he was with the Tigers, Harrison was able to become the national champion in both the long jump and the high jump event in two consecutive NCAA Championships (2019 and 2021).
Professionally, he won the silver medal in the high jump at the 2023 World Championships.
Maggie Mac Neil
Maggie Mac Neil is a Canadian swimmer and is one of the country's most successful athletes in the pool.
During her career, she has won numerous national and continental titles as well as an Olympic gold in the 100-meter butterfly, her specialty.
Mac Neil spent most of her college career with the Michigan Wolverines but decided to end her college years with the LSU Tigers. This move was a successful one, as she led the Tigers to an SEC championship in 2023, winning three golds in the process.
Nethaneel Mitchell-Blake
Nethaneel Mitchell-Blake is a British sprinter who has spent most of his international career as part of relay teams, with a mixed amount of success.
Mitchell-Blake is one of the most decorated sprinters in LSU history, having won six SEC titles and has broken numerous school records.
His last Olympics did not end well, with the British relay team being disqualified. So Mitchell-Blake will be more than ready to try and win an Olympic medal in Paris.
