Travis Hunter has seemingly made his mind to head to the NFL after this season, ending all speculation.
With the money in the NIL for college football superstars, there's a debate if elite players should remain in college football for longer or begin move to the NFL. There are pros and cons, as the NFL has a structured payscale for each pick in the NFL draft, while the amount of money from NIL is technically unlimited.
Hunter said on "The Travis Hunter Show":
"At least we got us a game, bro. At least we get to play one more game at college, boy."
This is one of the first times Travis Hunter has hinted that he might not be returning to the Colorado Buffaloes for the 2025 college football season despite having another year of eligibility. However, it doesn't come as much of a surprise, with Hunter expected to be one of the first picks in the 2025 NFL draft.
Will Travis Hunter play in the Colorado Buffaloes' bowl game?
The Colorado Buffaloes are set to take on the BYU Cougars in the Valero Alamo Bowl on Dec. 28. Bowl games generally don't see star players and upperclassmen play due to the low stakes involved, but it doesn't sound like Hunter is going to follow the trend.
During the episode, he said that he has one more game left in college, signifying that he's preparing to play in the bowl game. Even though evaluators don't need it, it gives another game of tape for Travis Hunter to show NFL decision-makers the type of player he is.
Entering the bowl season, Hunter has 92 receptions for 1,152 yards (12.5 yards per catch) with 15 touchdown receptions as well as a pair of rushing attempts for five yards (2.5 yards per carry) and a rushing touchdown.
On the defensive side of the ball, he has 31 total tackles, 11 pass deflections, one forced fumble and four interceptions.
