Travis Hunter faced off against Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi in the clash between Colorado and Colorado State on Saturday. The game was played at Sonny Lubick Field in Fort Collins, Colorado, the home of the Colorado State Rams.

It panned out to be an easier task for Deion Sanders and the Buffs than last year's edition of the rivalry at Folsom Field which ended 43-35 after two overtime periods. This time around four quarters were more than enough for Colorado to claim a 28-9 win.

It was a heated encounter with passions coming to a boil. At one point Colorado State's quarterback Brayen Fowler-Nicolosi mocked Travis Hunter, seemingly calling the Colorado star player "too small."

It didn't age too well when Hunter killed off a drive by the Rams intercepting a pass by Fowler-Nicolosi late in the third quarter.

Fans react to Travis Hunter's interception in Colorado State game

Colorado State's quarterback didn't have the best of nights against the Buffaloes. While he did throw 209 yards, he had no touchdown passes and two interceptions. According to a fan, that's more than enough to make him take a spot on the bench:

"All that CSU qb needs is 1 more INT n he gonna be 2nd string."

Colorado fans were quick to remind him of his earlier bravado:

"Who's too short QB?"

Other fans pointed out that Colorado's defensive play was impressive:

"Defense been putting belt to ass da whole game."

Travis Hunter's numbers against Colorado State in Week 3

Travis Hunter wasn't just impressive on defense, he was also Shedeur Sanders' most useful weapon in the offense. Hunter led the Buffs in receiving yards with 100, and two touchdown receptions in 13 catches. His exact defensive numbers haven't been posted yet, but we already know he made a critical interception in the third quarter.

Shedeur Sanders also had a good night, with 301 passing yards and four touchdowns. Despite not leading in the running game (Colorado State had 131 rushing yards to Colorado 109), just breaking the 100-yard ceiling is quite an improvement for the Buffaloes. Colorado successfully bounced back from Week 2's loss to Nebraska.
