Deion Sanders' highly anticipated docuseries, "Coach Prime," is set to return for its third season on Tuesday, exclusively on Amazon Prime Video. The series will give fans an inside look at Colorado’s successful 2024 campaign, with athletes like Travis Hunter and Shedeur Sanders in the spotlight.
Hunter, the 2024 Heisman Trophy winner, wasted no time hyping up the premiere. In an Instagram story, Hunter shared a promotional video of the show.
“COACH PRIME SEASON 3 PREMIERES TOMORROW ON PRIME VIDEO 🔥," Hunter wrote in the caption.
Deion, Shedeur, and Shilo Sanders officially announced the new season during an appearance on "Big Noon Kickoff" in November 2024. The series first started covering Coach Prime’s journey from his Jackson State days.
After season one's success, the series followed Deion’s move to the Colorado Buffaloes. Now, season three will cover the ups and downs of the 2024 college football season, in which the Buffs finished 9-3 and a loss against the BYU Cougars in the Alamo Bowl.
Expect exclusive locker room footage and game-day drama as "Coach Prime" promises another season packed with insight, passion, and the unique charisma that constitutes the world of Deion Sanders and his team.
Travis Hunter's bond with Coach Prime goes beyond the field
When Travis Hunter won the 2024 Heisman Trophy, his celebration showed the deep bond he shares with Deion Sanders. After hugging his fiancée and his mother, Hunter embraced Sanders emotionally, saying:
“Appreciate you, coach.”
This moment showed a partnership that has changed both of their lives. Hunter’s rise as a two-way star, dominating offense and defense, elevated to a whole new level with Sanders’ coaching vision.
From flipping his commitment to Jackson State over Florida State to following Deion to Colorado, Hunter’s journey has been attached to the Pro Football Hall of Famer.
“I wanted to be different,” Hunter said, embodying the philosophy Sanders instilled in him.
In a landscape where powerhouse programs like Alabama and Ohio State monopolize talent, Hunter’s success in Boulder proves the potential of charting one’s course. His 2024 season, marked by both the Biletnikoff and Bednarik Awards, not to mention the Heisman again, shows his dominance and commitment to excellence.
For Sanders, Hunter is the ultimate proof of concept. It shows recruits what is possible under his mentorship.
“He told me it’s going to be bigger than nothing before,” Hunter recalled.
Alongside Deion’s son, Shedeur, Hunter has been the face of Coach Prime’s program for the last two years.
