Travis Hunter commented on the series of burglaries at NFL players' homes. Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and tight end Travis Kelce have been victims of it, raising concerns among fans, media and stakeholders in the league.

Police reports reveal that the homes of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and tight end Travis Kelce were burglarized in October. Mahomes had his home in Belton, Missouri, burglarized on Oct. 6, while Kelce’s home in Leawood, Kansas, was broken into on Oct. 7.

Speaking on Wednesday's episode of “The Travis Hunter Show,” the two-way star reinstated the need for players to improve their security on a personal level going forward. He suggested employing the service of private securities rather than relying on the police.

“I’d have guards standing at the door 24/7, every day,” Hunter said (19:22) “They have so much money, all they need is one security guard. One security guard and they switch every couple of hours.
“[There are] security companies and stuff like that. They have guards that stand in front of the door. Just get one of those security companies. You spend money on bull junk anyway. You want to protect your house.”

Travis Hunter wins Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year

On Thursday, Travis Hunter was named the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year after his impressive performance this season. The Colorado two-way star delivered 31 total tackles, four interceptions, 11 passes defended and a forced fumble while the Buffs amazed everyone.

His offensive contributions in 2024 are equally remarkable: he led the Big 12 in receptions with 92, receiving touchdowns with 12, and ranked second in receiving yards with 1,152. He was edged out of the conference offensive award by teammate Shedeur Sanders.

Hunter continues to lead the way for the Heisman Trophy and has been named a finalist for a host of awards, including the Paul Hornung Award and the Walter Camp Award.

The NFL is divided on Travis Hunter’s best position

ESPN's Mel Kiper Jr. remarked on Thursday that NFL circles are having a debate on Hunter. This is regarding whether he should primarily focus on offense or defense at the professional level, given his exceptional abilities on both sides of the ball.

"This is people in the league. Every time I get a call. 'OK, Travis Hunter, where do you think he should be a priority in terms of position?” Kiper said on First Draft (5:45).
“Focus on the defensive secondary or the receiving entity? Where is he?' They're all over the place. It's 50-50. A split. Every time I get a different answer. So nobody's in agreement as to what his primary position will be, and what it should be.”

Hunter is anticipated to be a top pick in the 2025 NFL draft. However, his position for the draft remains uncertain, unlike other two-way players in the past.
