Travis Hunter drops 2-word response to being graded as Top 5 wide receiver and cornerback

This season, Travis Hunter has been one of college football's best players. The Colorado Buffaloes star is a strong player in two positions, and this has been recognized by many organizations.

This week, PFF ranked Hunter in the top five of both their wide receiver and cornerback rankings.

Hunter has responded to this on Instagram and seemed to take aim at his critics in the process.

"Overrated tho."

Travis Hunter has become the main part of the Buffaloes offense and defense. He is not only a good target for quarterback Shedeur Sanders, but can also make a game-winning tackle when it is needed.

Yet, some people have been critical of the high regard in which Hunter is held. The Buffaloes player made an appearance on "2Legendary with Shedeur Sanders" podcast, where he spoke to his teammate about those who haven't rated him highly during this season.

"I just hate when people say I'm not top five at receiver, top five at DB. Like bro, what are y'all watching? Come on. Every game plan for the opposing team has to be revolved around me."

So far, Hunter has caught for 757 yards, scoring eight touchdowns. This is alongside the 20 tackles that he has made, which includes a very important one made against the Baylor Bears earlier in the season.

All of these plays mean that Travis Hunter routinely faces nearly 100 snaps every week, something that other college football players do not have to do.

Travis Hunter on Patrick Mahomes

As well as talking about his own achievements, Travis Hunter discussed the work of other stars in the game, including Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

Despite the Chiefs having an 8-0 record coming into this weekend, Mahomes has not been his usual self. The Chiefs quarterback has only thrown for 11 touchdowns and has nine interceptions, something that is uncharacteristic for the three-time Super Bowl winner.

However, even with these performances and setbacks, Hunter was full of praise for Mahomes and showed his support for him:

"You gotta understand that Patrick Mahomes lost his receivers, has to get Travis Kelce back on the track … He be going through everything and still finds a way to achieve."

Hunter and Mahomes have a legion of fans but also, unsurprisingly, quite a lot of critics. These are perils that people in the spotlight have to deal with.
