Colorado’s Travis Hunter had fans laughing as he humorously brushed off Cam Newton’s attempt to meet him during the Buffaloes’ 48-21 win over UCF. With Deion Sanders’ squad now 4-1 overall and 2-0 in Big 12 play, the Buffs continue to shine, while UCF falls to 3-1 after their Saturday loss.

Hunter stole the spotlight again. In a lighthearted moment shared on X, former Panthers QB Cam Newton tried twice to greet him, but Hunter waved him off with a playful "nah" gesture, leaving Newton smiling.

On the field, Hunter’s performance was all business. He caught 9 passes for 89 yards and a touchdown and pulled off a diving interception off UCF’s quarterback, KJ Jefferson. After the interception, he even celebrated with a bold Heisman pose.

While UCF was favored, Colorado dominated, with QB Shedeur Sanders connecting with Hunter on a brilliant 23-yard touchdown in the first quarter, capping an impressive 11-play, 80-yard drive.

Hunter’s standout Week 5 performance, which included 89 receiving yards, a TD, two tackles, and an interception, has reignited Heisman buzz around him.

Star Travis Hunter’s Heisman pose gets Charles Woodson’s attention

Travis Hunter made headlines once again after intercepting Jefferson and striking the iconic Heisman pose. This caught the eye of former Heisman winner Charles Woodson, who won the prestigious award in 1997 with the Michigan Wolverines.

Woodson couldn’t help but imagine a future Heisman commercial featuring both himself and Hunter.

“My man hit the Heisman on they ***," Woodson wrote on X. "Imagine that Heisman commercial when I bring some help on defense.”

Hunter, the Colorado Buffaloes' electrifying two-way player, continues to make waves in college football. His standout performance against UCF in Week 5 strengthens his case as a top contender for the Heisman Trophy.

Travis Hunter played both wide receiver and defensive back—something fans don't see often these days.

He started his journey at Jackson State, but when Coach Pime moved to Colorado after the 2022 season, Hunter followed, ready to make his mark.

Up next, Colorado gets a break before hosting No. 23 Kansas State on Oct. 12.
