Travis Hunter injury woes continue to be a story.

Details about Travis Hunter injury woes continue to pop up as he returned to the field for the Colorado Buffaloes on Friday night.

Hunter has been out with a lacerated liver since the Rocky Mountain Showdown against the Colorado State Rams in Week 2 of the regular season. He returned to the field on Friday but took a major hit during the Week 7 matchup against the Stanford Cardinal.

With a little over 11 minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, quarterback Shedeur Sanders connected on a touchdown pass with Hunter. However, Hunter came up feeling a lot of pain after the play.

The college football world reacted to the hit, and it was not pretty. Here are some of the reactions on X (formerly called Twitter):

Travis Hunter injury woes saw the player out for more than a month. He took a major hit on that touchdown grab on Friday, so it will be interesting to see how coach Deion Sanders responds.

When playing over 100 snaps on both sides of the field, Hunter is going to take a lot of hits, but that could jeopardize his future. That's something coach Prime knows, as he didn't want to rush Hunter back from injury.

Travis Hunter injury woes: Is it worth having him play on both sides of the field?

The Travis Hunter injury woes continue to be a topic of conversation due to the fact that he's playing on both the offensive and defensive sides of the field. As a result, he's not able to get time to rest on the sidelines unless there's a special teams play.

Coming off an injury that kept him off the field for a while, Travis Hunter could begin to see less time on the field as coach Deion Sanders attempts to preserve his body.

There's a reason why not many players play both ways, but Hunter is Colorado's best wide receiver and cornerback so it's tough as a coach to decide whether to keep him on one side.

Entering the Friday game, Travis Hunter has 16 receptions for 213 yards (13.3 yards per catch) as a wide receiver. He also has nine total tackles, two pass deflections and an interception as a cornerback.

It's going to be tough to get him off the field but maybe allowing him to rotate a bit could be beneficial in the long run.
