Travis Hunter had Tim Tebow in stitches with his witty response about getting any rest on Heisman ceremony day. The event, marking the 90th anniversary of the prestigious Heisman Trophy, brought together past winners, including 2007 Florida standout Tim Tebow and 2012 Texas A&M star Johnny Manziel.

It took place on Dec. 14 at the Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York City and aired live on ESPN, with Chris Fowler hosting for the 31st consecutive year.

A video uploaded by the YouTube channel “Travis Hunter” captured the lighthearted moment. At the 2:38 mark, Tebow asked Hunter:

“Did you get any rest?”

Hunter’s quick response was:

“Three hours,” which sparked instant laughter from Tebow.

This year, Hunter took home the Heisman Trophy, edging out Boise State Broncos running back Ashton Jeanty, who finished second in the voting. Hunter’s jaw-dropping performance this season included over 1,356 snaps played — 434 more than any other FBS player.

Recognized as the top college football player in the nation, Hunter's achievement aligns with his high projection in the 2025 NFL Draft. Pro Football Network’s Alex Kennedy predicts Hunter will go No. 2 overall to the New England Patriots in his latest mock draft.

Travis Hunter’s brilliance extends beyond the football field, as the Colorado Buffaloes star shines in academics too. Named an Academic All-American earlier this month, Hunter boasts an impressive 3.798 cumulative GPA.

In doing so, he joins an elite club, becoming the first Academic All-American to win the Heisman Trophy since Tim Tebow achieved the feat in 2007.

Hunter’s versatility has drawn comparisons to legends like Charles Woodson, who won the Heisman in 1997 with seven interceptions and 231 receiving yards. His dynamic two-way play is a rare spectacle, propelling Colorado to a solid 9-3 record.

The Alamo Bowl on Dec. 28 against No. 17 BYU will mark a bittersweet moment for fans — it’s Hunter’s final collegiate game. After clinching the Heisman Trophy in New York, the stage is set for one last remarkable performance from this extraordinary athlete.
