Travis Hunter looks more and more like the winner of the Heisman Trophy this season, with his odds surpassing those of Ashton Jeanty. Many are already speculating about his future in the NFL, with some already touting him to be the first overall pick in next year's NFL Draft.

Sports pundit Skip Bayless is one of those praising Hunter's talent. On Friday, he tweeted the following remark about Colorado's two-way star:

"As I've said many times, Travis Hunter will become the greatest all-around player in NFL history. He'll be the greatest cornerback since Deion. And he WILL PLAY RECEIVER because he's just too good not to."

Hunter's ability to contribute on both sides of the ball has led many to call his season historic. His contributions on the offense are so highly thought of that he's been named a finalist for the Biletnikoff Award. However, in defense, he has been snubbed from the list of Jim Thorpe Award finalists, which has raised some eyebrows.

Deion Sanders to give his Jim Thorpe Award to Travis Hunter

One of those highly aggrieved by Travis Hunter not being selected for the prestigious Jim Thorpe Award is his coach Deion Sanders. Sanders, who won the award in 1988, highly disagreed with the voters and said the following this week:

“How? How is Travis Hunter snubbed by the Jim Thorpe Award? You can have my award. You can have it back. Matter of fact, I’m gonna give him mine. I ain’t using it, just sitting up there collecting dust.”
“If this ain’t the most idiotic thing in college football, that he’s not a finalist for the Jim Thorpe Award, how in the world is Travis Hunter not a finalist for the Jim Thorpe Award? They just pretty much messed up all the integrity of the award, and he can have mine. Whoever’s voting down there, whoever is bringing it home — thank you, because I don’t even want mine now.”

This year's finalists are Texas's Jahdae Barron, Ohio State’s Caleb Downs, and Georgia’s Malaki Starks.
