Travis Hunter's father, Travis Hunter Sr., aimed a cheeky dig at Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty while defending his son's Heisman Trophy triumph on Wednesday. Travis Sr. posted a comparison of Hunter Jr. and Jeanty's bowl game stats on Instagram.

While both Hunter and Jeanty had relatively subpar bowl games, Hunter Sr. appeared to call out some of the narratives that questioned his son's achievement.

In 20th-ranked Colorado's 36-14 Alamo Bowl loss to 17th-ranked BYU, Hunter caught four passes for a game-high 106 yards and scored a touchdown. He also posted four tackles as a cornerback.

Meanwhile, Jeanty recorded 104 yards on 30 carries with no touchdowns in No. 8 Boise State's 31-14 loss to fifth-ranked Penn State in the Fiesta Bowl on Tuesday. He also had 22 yards on three receptions.

The Heisman ceremony took place well before the bowl games got underway, Thus, bowl game performances don't have any impact on the results.

Nonetheless, Travis Sr.'s IG post appeared to throw shade at Heisman runner-up Jeanty. Hunter edged Jeanty to the Heisman this season, but some felt that the Boise State running back was more deserving of the honor.

Jeanty finished the season with 2,601 yards and 29 touchdowns on 374 carries. He also contributed 138 yards and a touchdown on 23 receptions.

Many fans and analysts believe that Travis Hunter will declare for the 2025 NFL draft after his third season in college football. Hunter began his collegiate career at Jackson State in 2022 and transferred to Colorado in 2023, where he continued playing under Deion Sanders.

Hunter, CU's two-way phenom, finished the 2024 season with 1,258 yards and 15 touchdowns on 96 receptions as a receiver. He also posted 35 tackles, 11 passes defended, four interceptions and a forced fumble as a defensive back.

Hunter is projected as a top three pick by analysts due to his versatility. However, some have also advised the player to stick to one position on the gridiron if he goes pro.
