Colorado Buffaloes two-way star Travis Hunter continued his march towards the Heisman Trophy with a stellar performance during the Buffaloes 37-21 loss to the Kansas Jayhawks in Week 13. He registered 125 yards on eight receptions resulting in two touchdowns while adding seven tackles and one pass defended on the defensive side of the ball.
Off the gridiron, Hunter lavished gifts on his fiancee Leanna Lenee for her birthday. Lenee posted pictures on her Instagram stories of herself on a plane headed towards Cabo for her birthday.
She posted snippets from her holiday destination room that was decked out in birthday decorations including a letter from Hunter that said:
"Baby, I hope you enjoy your flowers, cake, wine and room decor. I love you so much. Happy birthday," the letter read.
Lenee captioned the stories:
"My man, my man, my mannn," she wrote.
In a TikTok clip posted Saturday, she revealed that Hunter had promised to pay for her trip to the holiday destination.
Travis Hunter and Leanna Lenee marriage announcement news receives criticism
Travis Hunter and Leanna Lenee got engaged in February and the couple announced that they would get married on May 24, 2025, after next year's draft where the two-way star is expected to be a high first-round pick.
During an episode of the "Coach JB Show with Big Smitty" show, former NFL star Matt McChesney was skeptical about the Heisman-contending star getting married so young.
“Travis Hunter is getting married. Congratulations, bro. But you just got in the line to lose half of your s**t, and you’re not even 21 years old yet,” McChesney said. "Personally, if my son walked up to me and said he’s getting married in college, I would s*ap him until he was purple and be like, ‘Are you out of your mind? What’s wrong with you, dog?’ But that’s not my kid, so you know.”
In a clip on their shared YouTube channel, Lenee revealed that the couple had met as students in Collins High School and initially, she was reluctant to go out with him but that they have persisted since they started dating.
"He was a friend. I didn't respond to him because he wasn't my type," Lenee said. "I left him in my DMs for like two months and then finally I answered him, but I didn't want to be nothing."
Lenee also revealed that she and Travis Hunter moved from Jackson State to Boulder, joining Deion Sanders' revolution in Colorado.
