Ever since the end of two-way star Travis Hunter's phenomenal production in the 2024 season, which saw the Colorado Buffaloes finish with a 9-4 record, the attention has shifted toward his draft status. Many outlets are projecting him as a Day 1 pick, to be selected by either the Tennessee Titans or Cleveland Browns.

During Wednesday's episode of "Thee Pregame Network," Hunter's ever-supportive mother, Ferrante Edmonds, was asked whether she had a preferred NFL destination for her son, and she gave an eye-opening answer.

"There isn't any," Edmonds said. "Wherever he is up at, he's done what he needs to do. I'm just excited to just be in the midst and just to see all his hard work paying off. So, wherever he goes, he's gonna bring that fire. So, wherever he's up at, we're all gonna have to stay tuned won't we?" (56:37)

Travis Hunter's NFL future debated

During an interview with "TMZ Sports" on Monday, former Tennessee Titans running back Chris Johnson begged his old team to select Travis Hunter during the 2025 NFL draft. The Titans snagged the No. 1 pick after the regular season, ahead of the Cleveland Browns and the New York Giants, after finishing with a 3-14 record.

"I think we go in and see what we can do for us, bring Travis on, you get your receiver or you get to a DB," Johnson said. "I would love him to go in and play DB and come in on certain special packages on offense to help the team out, but I think we would be absolute fools if we pass up on Travis."

The debate about Hunter has raged between the franchise that will draft him and the one that will allow him to continue playing on both sides of the ball. During a Tuesday interview with TMZ Sports, former NFL star Rod Woodson urged the Buffs star to play cornerback in the NFL:

“I just think if you are burning candles at both ends of the stick, he could play well. But the likelihood that he’s going to be great at both, that’s not likely. Not in the National Football League. He can be that All-Pro, next generational corner. It’s hard to find young, dynamic cornerbacks that come out and can shut those guys down."

Travis Hunter's NFL future has intrigued both fans and analysts as the Heisman-winning star seeks to continue playing on both sides of the ball like he did to devastating effect in college football.
