Colorado’s two-way star Travis Hunter has his sights set on the 2025 NFL Draft, where he’s projected as the No. 2 overall pick in several mock drafts. Following a historic season with the Buffs in 2024, Hunter’s blend of versatility and star power has the Cleveland Browns eyeing him for their roster.
On Wednesday, the 2024 Heisman Trophy winner opened up about his mindset for the new year and beyond on "The Travis Hunter Show." When asked what excites him most about 2025, Hunter kept it simple:
“More life, more opportunities, and being able to spend more time with the people I love.”
Hunter also shared his two New Year’s resolutions.
“Mainly, just take care of my body, stay focused, and keep going,” he said. “I’ve been trying to do that for a minute anyway, so just got to keep being better as a person.” [09:00]
Hunter’s 2024 campaign under coach Deion Sanders established his legacy in Boulder. Now his NFL aspirations align with his resolutions to stay sharp and focused.

Is Travis Hunter ready for the NFL?
Hunter’s name is already etched in college football storybooks, but the question now is, can he carry that dominance into the NFL? Projections placed the Colorado athlete as the No. 2 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, but his ability to adapt to the next level is under scrutiny.
As a cornerback, Hunter’s stats speak for themselves. He allowed just 22 receptions for 205 yards in 38 targets during the 2024 season, racking up 11 pass breakups and four interceptions. His tackling abilities, including 12 stops, prove his knack for turning defensive plays into offensive nightmares. His slender build will raise concerns about physicality, but his tackling style and football IQ in cruck moments may compensate for that.
Offense is where Hunter truly shines. With 92 catches for 1,152 yards and 14 touchdowns, the Buffs player ranks among the top receivers in the nation. His knack for forcing 23 missed tackles this season brought out his YAC (yards after catch) dominance, making him a nightmare for defenders in open space. Plays like his savvy touchdown against Colorado State show Hunter’s NFL-ready footwork and spatial awareness.
Whether NFL teams play him as a lockdown corner or an explosive receiver, Hunter’s transition to the pros will be must-watch TV.
