Georgia Bulldogs coach Kirby Smart is concerned about the travel arrangements to Tuscaloosa, Alabama. The Bulldogs go on the road to play Alabama on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. ET in the biggest game of the college football season.
However, there is a storm in Tuscaloosa, and Smart says there is a concern about getting to Alabama.
“As I understand it, and we've been following it and watching it with the SEC office and our in-house people in Delta, it looks like it's trending more and more eastward which may affect us, but less and less affect towards the game.
"My biggest concern is the travel and our travel arrangements. Being able to get there in a convenient way is my concern right now," Smart said.
Luckily, the storm is traveling east, thus, it shouldn't impact the game on Saturday. But it may impact the Bulldogs leaving Georgia to go to Alabama for the game.
Saturday has a 40% chance of rain in Tuscaloosa, according to The Weather Network.
Kirby Smart knows preparing for Jalen Milroe is difficult
Georgia is a two-point favorite to defeat Alabama on the road. But Smart knows preparing for Roll Tide quarterback Jalen Milroe is challenging.
“If you could simulate this guy, then he would be in the transfer portal somewhere because he would be playing. He would be on a team somewhere playing because there is no simulation.
"I think that's the problem. He can go as fast backward as he can go forward. I've seen him get out of jams straight ahead, backward - elite quickness," Smart said, via AlbanyHerald.
Smart knows Milroe has an underrated arm who can throw a great deep ball, which sort of forces the defense to play deep.
Ahead of the game, Smart says the practice has been intense, but he says he's making sure the players don't leave it all on the practice field.
"That's probably the biggest thing is holding guys back and making sure that they don't overdo it. Spirited, get after practice. Like I said, when you get in these SEC rivalry games, it's not a motivation issue," Smart said.
Georgia is 3-0 and coming off their first bye week of the season.
