Malachi Singleton’s late-game heroics sealed the Arkansas' unforgettable victory
Malachi Singleton dashed in for an 11-yard touchdown with 1:17 left on the clock, securing a thrilling victory for the Razorbacks over the Volunteers in Week 6.
The Razorbacks (4-2, 2-1 in the Southeastern Conference) displayed remarkable resilience, rallying from a 14-3 deficit in the third quarter. The win marked their first home victory against a top-five team since they beat the No. 3 Volunteers back in 1999.
Singleton, stepping in for starting quarterback Taylen Green after he was injured, orchestrated the game-winning drive with impressive poise. Adding to the excitement of the day, it was the first time since Oct. 6, 2012, that two top-5 teams from the same conference lost on the same weekend, a feat that hadn’t happened since No. 4 LSU and No. 5 Georgia fell in their matches, per AP News.
Furthermore, it was the first occasion since Oct. 30, 2004, when No. 4 Miami and No. 5 Florida State lost to unranked rivals.
