Washington vs Indiana summary
No.13-ranked Indiana entered the game as the betting favorite and showed its strength early. However, it was not the offense that got the team on the board. Instead, it was an interception by D’Angelo Ponds which gave the Hoosiers their first points. Ponds intercepted the ball midway in the first quarter and ran 67 yards for a touchdown.
The second quarter opened with Indiana scoring again, this time with quarterback Tayven Jackson throwing a 42-yard TD pass to wide receiver Omar Cooper Jr. After the extra point was completed, the Hoosiers had a 14-0 lead.
The Huskies did not let the game get away from them and answered quickly with a TD of their own three minutes later, via a six-yard run by Giles Jackson. The Hoosies then scored a field goal as the clock expired to take a 17-7 lead at halftime.
Washington brought the game even closer at the start of the second half, scoring less than three minutes in to cut the lead to just three points, 17-14. But things started to unravel for the Huskies after that point as the Hoosiers scored later in the third quarter to take a 24-14 lead into the fourth quarter.
In the final quarter, the Huskies struggled to find success early, and Indiana was able to put points on the board. With less than nine minutes left on the clock, Indiana scored another TD, to take a commanding 31-14 lead. Washington scored a field goal but ultimately lost the game 31-17.
