Deion Sanders Jr. addressed a viral video showing Shedeur Sanders express his frustrations on the BYU defense during Colorado's 36-14 Alamo Bowl defeat on Saturday. When Deion Jr. caught a glimpse of the video on X, he pointed out that Shedeur wasn't referring to the Cougars' defense, but instead was showing annoyance at some of CU's plays.
"He wasn’t talking about their defense. He was honestly frustrated with some of the stuff we were doing.. but this video is (three fire emojis) so f*** what I’m talking about. I put it out there so I can’t even get mad at it… yall used it perfectly." Deion Jr. tweeted in response to a fan who posted the video.
In the video, Shedeur is on the sidelines with Travis Hunter and the two are watching plays on a screen.
"See, that's why I'm saying." Shedeur is heard telling Hunter. "I can't early on. I don't know what they're doing."
In his final game for No. 20 Colorado (9-4), Shedeur completed 16 of 23 passes for 208 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions. He also had minus-34 yards on nine carries, as No. 17 BYU (11-2) secured a rather comfortable win in the Alamo Bowl.
Shedeur finished the 2024 season passing for 4,134 yards, 37 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. The Buffs signal-caller also rushed for four touchdowns. Shedeur was named the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year and also won the 2024 Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award.
Now, Shedeur will turn his focus to the 2025 NFL draft, where he is considered a top five pick by many fans and analysts.
Deion Sanders Jr. has been promoting and covering Colorado on social media
Deion Sanders Jr. is the eldest son of Coach Prime. He has been providing coverage for the Colorado Buffaloes this season and has been promoting the program on social media.
It remains to be seen whether Deion Jr. will continue to create content for the Buffs next season since his half-brothers Shilo and Shedeur are leaving Colorado to go pro.
While there is speculation around CU coach Deion Sanders' future, Deion Sr. has often said that he plans on staying at Colorado next season. Thus, Deion Jr. would still have a family member to help him grow his content at CU.
