Kirk Cousins, the Atlanta Falcons quarterback with a net worth of $120 million (according to celebritynetworth.com), made an appearance at the Georgia Bulldogs practice facility. This was ahead of their Week 7 clash with the Mississippi State Bulldogs. Cousins was there with his wife Julie, who is a graduate of the University of Georgia.
In a video posted on social media, Cousins stated that he had been visiting and touring the city of Athens, Georgia, and had dropped by the practice facilities of Kirby Smarts' team. He concluded his video by wishing the Bulldogs good luck in their game this weekend.
Kirk Cousins did not attend the University of Georgia. He went to Michigan State and played three seasons as the starting quarterback for the Michigan State Spartans.
During those three years, he threw for 9,131 yards and 66 touchdowns and led the Spartans to a Big Ten Conference Championship in 2010.
However, while he spent most of his time playing against Big Ten conference opposition, he did have two encounters against the Georgia Bulldogs.
The first one came in his freshman year, where he faced five snaps in the 2009 Orange Bowl, taking over from Brian Hoyer after Matthew Stafford's Bulldogs were able to seal a 24-12 victory.
His second encounter with the Georgia Bulldogs came in the final game of his college career. This was the 2012 Outback Bowl, where Cousins threw for an impressive 300 yards and one touchdown as the Spartans recorded a 33-30 overtime victory over Georgia.
Now, 12 years later, he returns to Georgia as a hero to its fans. Cousins has led the Atlanta Falcons to a good start to the season so far and threw for over 500 yards in their overtime victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last week.
Will Kirk Cousins' visit help the Georgia Bulldogs Win this week?
This week, the Georgia Bulldogs face the Mississippi State Bulldogs during Week 7. Coming into this game, the Bulldogs have a 4-1 record, having bounced back from their defeat to the Alabama Crimson Tide with a convincing victory over the Auburn Tigers last week.
They are still one of the strongest teams in college football, led by quarterback Carson Beck. They are still on track to make the college football playoffs and potentially get themselves into the SEC Championship game.
The same cannot be said for Mississippi State. They are one of the weaker sides in the SEC, and come into this game with a 1-4 record (0-2 SEC), and are on a four-game losing streak.
It is highly likely that Georgia is not going to be phased by Mississippi State, who, on prior form alone, will not be able to cope with Kirby Smart's team. The visit of Kirk Cousins could only strengthen Georgia's team and could lead to a blowout victory.
