Ryan Montgomery impressed a lot of fans on Thursday with his skills at the ongoing Elite 11 in Los Angeles. The Georgia commit was one of the finalists who caught the attention of scouts, media and fans with astonishing playmaking skills at the quarterback competition.

Montgomery advanced to the Elite 11 national finals following his scintillating performance in the Ohio regional. He is now well-positioned to challenge for the top spot among other top signal callers around the country at the ongoing finals in Los Angeles.

Take a look at the Georgia commit's performance at the quarterback competition on Thursday.

Ryan Montgomery has been impressive since Day 1

Montgomery has shown a glimpse of his ability right from the first day of the ongoing Elite 11 competition. The quarterback performed admirably on the opening night of the drill, which created some anticipation for his performance in subsequent days.

Andrew Ivins, 247Sports' director of scouting, identified Montgomery as a quarterback poised to distinguish himself among the elite QBs after the first day of drills.

“I think it starts, for me, with Ryan Montgomery," Ivins said on the 247Sports Football Recruiting Podcast. "He's accurate, an accurate passer. The scouting report on him is, I think he's an elite processor, and you can't really see that in this type of setting.”

When did Ryan Montgomery commit to Georgia?

Ryan Montgomery gave his commitment to Georgia in April. Interest in him started during the days of Todd Monken as offensive coordinator. He was offered a scholarship in April 2022 after Monken went to watch him in Ohio.

“They're a winning program. So that's the most important part," Montgomery told UGASports after he got the offer. "They win games. Obviously, they're defending national champions. So I mean, who wouldn't want to go play for a team like that?”

The quarterback is highly rated among college football programs but settled for the Bulldogs in a group of finalists that included Florida and South Carolina. With Carson Beck heading to the NFL in 2025, Montgomery could be a starter from his freshman year.
