Colorado Buffaloes coach Deion Sanders injected energy into the football team. With a magnetic personality and a fiery demeanor, Sanders instilled a newfound determination and drive among his players.
In a recent spring training session, $45 million (per Celebrity Net Worth) Sanders passionately rallied his team.
"You know how you've been dressing," Sanders said. "You know how you've been working. You know how you've been performing. Why you get out here and get brand new? Don't change nothing.
"Let's go out here and be dominant today. And let's execute today. Let's give it our all. We're not gonna be out here for long, but while we're out here, let's give it our all."
Further emphasizing the importance of seizing opportunities, Deion Sanders urged:
"Take advantage of opportunities. Some will, some won't. Somebody's waiting. Let's make sure we take advantage of opportunities."
Through his reforms, Sanders transformed the squad significantly. Sanders recruited 86 new players, 50 of them transfers; only 10 scholarship athletes remain from last year's team.
The 2024 spring game holds immense importance. Many expected a difficult rebuilding process for Colorado, but Deion Sanders surpassed expectations, leading the team to a 4-8 record. Most notably, they started with a promising 3-0 streak, earning a top 20 AP poll ranking.
Notable stars are shining under Deion Sanders, including quarterback Shedeur Sanders and athlete Travis Hunter stand out. Optimism exists for the Buffaloes' Big 12 transition. Sanders made offseason adjustments like significant staff changes and roster turnover.
Corbin Laisure commits to Colorado, impressed by Deion Sanders' influence
Corbin Laisure, the 6-foot-5, 225-pound tight end/defensive end from Bluff City, Tennessee's Sullivan East High School, has committed to play college football at the University of Colorado.
Making his decision before Colorado's spring game, Laisure opted for the Buffaloes over Arizona State, Louisville and Ole Miss.
"I am choosing them firstly because I feel that is where God is leading me and I have a great peace about going there," Laisure said. "I also love the coaching staff and the love and accountability they give their players."
Expressing enthusiasm for Coach Pat Shurmur's offense, Laisure said:
"I am also a huge fan of Coach Shurmur and I believe I will fit in well with his offense."
Laisure credited tight end coach Brett Bartolone, assistant director of player personnel Devin Rispress, and Gunnar White as the lead recruiters for Colorado. His visit in September left a lasting impression, particularly his interaction with head coach Deion Sanders.
"Of course Coach Prime is absolutely electric and it will be a great blessing to play for him," Laisure added. "Me and him sat and talked for around 30 minutes and I was ready to run through a brick wall for the man."
Laisure had impressive numbers as a junior, tallying 64 receptions for 774 yards and 10 touchdowns, along with 110 tackles and an interception.
