WATCH: Alabama coach Maurice Linguist enjoys fun night with Crimson Tide DBs ahead of 2024 season

Alabama Crimson Tide defensive back coach Maurice Linguist shared a video of him hosting the DBs at his home. Linguist was named Alabama's DB coach in January after being the head coach of the University of Buffalo.

With Linguist being a new hire to Alabama, he's looking to build chemistry with his players and bond with them. On Sunday, Linguist hosted the entire Crimson Tide defensive backs for dinner, which he shared on social media.

It was a good idea by Linguist to have the players come to his house. It must have helped him get closer to his players and help the players bond with one another ahead of the 2024 college football season.

Also, Alabama enters 2024 with a new-look secondary after Kool-Aid McKinstry, Terrion Arnold and Jayen Key were drafted into the NFL, while Caleb Downs transferred after Nick Saban's retirement.

Entering 2024, the Crimson Tide are expected to start Malachi Moore, Zabien Brown, DeVonta Smith, Keon Sabb and Domani Jackson in the secondary.

Linguist is also the co-defensive coordinator for Alabama along with being the defensive backs coach.

Maurice Linguist eager to coach at Alabama

Maurice Linguist decided to resign as the head coach of Buffalo to take the job with Alabama.

"We are excited to have Maurice join our staff at Alabama," head coach Kalen DeBoer said in a statement. "Maurice brings both head coaching experience and an established record of success coaching defensive backs."

Linguist said in the statement that he has always admired Alabama's success, so he's excited to be part of that in 2024.

"I have always had an incredible admiration for Alabama's long history of success," Linguist said. "I'm looking forward to the opportunity to help Coach DeBoer continue that winning tradition, while developing our players both on and off the field."

Maurice Linguist has plenty of experience coaching the secondary, as he was the Dallas Cowboys defensive backs coach in 2020. He also was the cornerbacks coach at Texas A&M, the defensive backs coach at Minnesota, the safeties coach at Mississippi State and the defensive backs coach at Iowa State.

Alabama will open the 2024 season at home on Aug. 31 against Western Kentucky. The Crimson Tide have notable games against Georgia, Wisconsin, Tennessee, LSU, Oklahoma and Auburn.
