WATCH: Alabama QB Jalen Milroe runs in excitement to greet former coach Nick Saban during 2024 SEC media days

Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe was visibly excited to meet his former coach Nick Saban at the Omni Hotel in Dallas, Texas, on Wednesday. Milroe arrived at the hotel as part of Alabama's SEC media days, while Saban was working as an analyst for the SEC Network.

In a video posted on X by Peter Greenfield of AL.com, Milroe can be seen running toward the set where Saban is filming. The Alabama quarterback takes off his hat in respect of the seven-time national championship-winning coach before embracing Saban. The two also share a few words during the pleasant reunion.

Jalen Milore committed to Alabama in 2021 to play under Saban. The quarterback spent two seasons as a backup to Bryce Young before being named the Tide's starter ahead of the 2023 season.

Last season, Milore threw for 2,834 yards and 23 touchdowns on 187 passes. He also rushed for 12 touchdowns as Alabama reached the College Football Playoff.

However, the Tide lost to eventual champion Michigan in the CFP semi-final, which was also Saban's last game in charge of the team. After Saban announced his retirement in January, Kalen DeBoer was appointed as his successor.

While speaking on the third day of the SEC media days, Jalen Milroe explained that the Tide have set their sights on winning the national championship, under coach Kalen DeBoer.

“For us, we’re passionate about each other and also passionate about achieving short-term goals and long-term goals in this process and we can all reflect from it. We shared the same experience from Coach (Kalen) DeBoer with failing to achieve a national championship so now it’s about refocusing and focusing on our spring 2024 football season,” Milroe said.

Notably, DeBoer was the coach of the Washington Huskies last season. His team reached the national championship game but lost to Michigan at the final hurdle.

Although the 2024 season will be his first with Alabama, DeBoer boasts a stellar 104–12 overall coaching record. It will be interesting to see whether he can get the best of Milroe and Co. at the Tide.
