Coach Prime met Marvel star Anthony Mackie for a special event at the University of Colorado on Monday. Mackie, known for his role as Sam Wilson, aka "Falcon," in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, joined Deion Sanders at an early screening of his new film "Elevation."
Before the event, Mackie and director George Nolfi spoke with CU football players, sharing stories and inspiration. Mackie even signed a poster for the team.
Colorado Buffaloes Football tweeted a video on X, where the actor had a message for Buffs fans.
“What’s up everybody, this is Anthony Mackie," he said. "I’m here with the CU Boulder football team, about to check out my new movie ‘Elevation’. Coming out on Nov. 8 — y'all go check it out…gonna love it.”
On the flip side, Coach Prime’s time in Colorado is off to a promising start. With an overall record of 10-10 since his arrival, Sanders has helped elevate the Buffaloes, who were ranked No. 21 in the latest AP Top 25 poll.
This marks a huge step forward from last year’s 4-8 season in the Pac-12. Now back in the Big 12, Colorado is enjoying newfound success and renewed energy.
Next up, the Buffs (6-2, 4-1 Big 12) head to Jones AT&T Stadium on Saturday for a 3 p.m. showdown with Texas Tech (6-3, 4-2 Big 12), their second straight top-25 opponent.
Coach Prime's Colorado Buffs are seeing a drop in TV ratings
The Colorado Buffaloes are seeing a drop in TV ratings in Year 2 under Deion Sanders, with viewership down by 49% compared to last season. According to WalkerMN, Colorado games this season are drawing an average of 3.7 million viewers—still strong but a notable dip from last year’s 7.3 million average.
However, this year’s numbers are up a remarkable 424% from 2022, when the Buffs averaged just 706,000 viewers in their one-win season.
Despite the drop, Coach Prime’s program remains a big draw, with Colorado’s early-season loss to Nebraska making the top 15 most-watched games this season. Last year, the Buffs had three games in that top tier.
At 6-2 overall and 4-1 in the Big 12, the Buffs are in a solid spot to chase the conference title in their first season back. A win there could secure them a place in the new 12-team College Football Playoff.
Recently, Shedeur Sanders led Colorado to a 34-23 victory over Cincinnati, passing for 323 yards, two touchdowns and adding a rushing touchdown.
With four games left, including matchups against Utah and Oklahoma State, the Colorado Buffaloes are still in the hunt.
