Warren Sapp, a Hall of Famer, recently surprised Deion Sanders with a thoughtful gift.
Sapp, who was hired as a graduate assistant coach by the Colorado Buffaloes in May, surprised Sanders through the promotion channel 'Well Off Media'. The heartwarming video of Sapp presenting the gift to Sanders was recently uploaded this week.
Sapp, who is a Super Bowl champion, graduated from Texas Seminary Christian University with a Bachelor of Arts in Christian Sports Management in 2023. His newly conferred degree allowed him to join the Colorado Buffaloes football team staff under PrimeTime.
Along with the good news, Sapp was also seen gifting a cool, all-black sporty full-sleeve t-shirt to Coach Prime. As he surprised Sanders with an XL-sized t-shirt, humorously in the video, Sapp was heard saying:
"During the summer, he get a little fat. Then he get sexy during the fall," Sapp said. [Timestamp - 13;26]
Sanders, clearly amused by the gift, jokingly commented:
"This is a fishing shirt," he said, but quickly faded the comment by saying, “They don't know that. They don't know that."
Sanders later revealed the backstory of the gift, noting that Sapp always brings back gear from Florida, and on this occasion, he had on a particularly nice shirt. Sanders inquired about it, to which Sapp simply replied,
"I got you."
Sapp also shared the details behind the t-shirt, saying:
"That's that OGA right there,” Sapp told Coach Prime. “That come from Hawaii right there."
Reports suggest Sapp has been offered a substantial $150,000 contract to join the Buffs.
Warren Sapp takes on his first coaching role to support Colorado
Warren Sapp, with his 13 years in the NFL under his belt, is making a comeback to the gridiron to help Colorado get ready for the season. When he announced this on Instagram earlier, Sanders had a genuine response:
“Love ya my brother 2 Life!” Deion Sanders wrote in comments.
Hailing from Miami, Florida, Sapp is embarking on a new journey as a coach, a first for him. He's looking to make an impact and lend a hand to CU on the front lines.
“I have been a fan of Deion Sanders since I was 12 years old. We are all here to support him,” Sapp said earlier. “Let’s go and win the championship!”
Sapp's NFL track record speaks for itself: 198 games played, 573 tackles, 96.5 sacks, 19 forced fumbles, 4 interceptions, and 3 touchdowns. That's the kind of experience and talent CU Buffs fans may not ignore.
